Below Market Rate (BMR) Affordable Rental Units Available

Thank you for your interest in applying for an affordable BMR rental unit. The following restricted rental units are currently available for rent under the oversight of the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development. If you are interested in any of these units, please contact the person named in each listing below directly.

To apply, you’ll need to complete a BMR application (see below) along with any supporting documentation if you are claiming a lottery preference. You must apply for each new housing opportunity as it comes up. (For most units, there is no a waiting list.)

Please read through the listings below for complete information on units that are currently available. Then please review our BMR rental program in more detail on our website. Please contact the rental manager for each new unit for basic information on the units and for an application. They are your first point of contact. BMR RE-RENTAL UNITS

Dogpatch: 2235 3rd Street, Unit E408, San Francisco, CA 94107 – One-bedroom unit renting for $613 per month. Household income must not exceed 30% of California Tax Credit Allocation Committee Median Income for 2015. Applications due 04/30/15; Lottery 05/07/15. Lottery Results will be published to this website by 5pm, Friday, May 8, 2015.

PLANNING SECTION CODE 124 (f) RENTAL UNITS:

 

Mid-Market: 55 9th Street (AVA), San Francisco, CA 94103 - 3 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units renting for $2,669 - $3,414 per month. Household income must not exceed 150% of State Income Limits. Applications due 05/01/15; Lottery 05/11/15. Please note: Lottery results will be posted on Ava’s website by Monday, May 25, 2015.

Planning Code Section 124 (f) allows real estate developers a density bonus if they provide units that are restricted for at no more than 150% of AMI. MOHCD and the Planning Department monitor these units under the Inclusionary Procedures Manual.
